Nachfolgend finden Sie eine Reihe von Literaturangaben (alphabetisch sortiert nach dem Nachnahmen des Erstautors), die sich mit dem Biber beschäftigen. Die Quellenangaben betreffen sowohl den Eurasischen Biber (Castor fiber) als auch den Nordamerikanischen Biber (Castor canadenis). Darüber hinaus sind auch Quellen aufgeführt, in denen fossile Bibergattungen behandelt werden oder die sich mit der Familie der Biber (Castoridae) als Ganzes beschäftigen (z.B. Artikel zur Taxonomie der Nagetiere).

Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen, sind hier nur Artikel aufgeführt, die in wissenschaftlichen (peer reviewed) Zeitschriften erschienen sind (Artikel aus Tageszeitungen und ähnliches sind nicht berücksichtigt). Mit einigen wenigen Ausnahmen sind die meisten Artikel entweder in englischer oder deutscher Sprache verfasst; Artikel in anderen Sprachen (hier vor allem solche, die in skandinavischen oder slawischen Sprachen oder in finnischer Sprache verfasst sind) sind in dieser Zusammenstellung kaum zu finden (obwohl wir uns bewußt sind, dass sehr viele Artikel über den Biber auch in diesen Sprachen veröffentlicht wurden und werden).
