Zur deutschen Version Beaver literature references

In the following you can find some literature references (sorted alphabetically after the surname of the first author), dealing with the beaver. The references refer both to the Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber) as well as the North American beaver (Castor canadensis). Furthermore, also references are listed dealing with fossil beaver genera or with the family of the beavers (Castoridae) as a whole (e.g. papers on rodent taxonomy).

With a few exceptions, only papers are listed, which have been published in scientific (peer reviewed) journals (articles from newspapers are not considered). Most of the papers are written either in English or in German language; papers in other languages (especially in Scandinavian or Slavic languages or in Finnish language) are hardly to be found (although we are aware of the fact, that a wealth of information regarding the beaver can be found in these languages as well).

These references are gathered by us during the last years and are updated continuously. If you are using Zotero (https://www.zotero.org) as a reference manager and if you are using the Zotero plugin for your browser (available for Firefox, Chrome or Safari), you will be able to take over selected (or all) listed papers to your Zotero reference database directly from this page.

Alternatively you can download all references as a BibTex-file (2.3 MB) or as a comma-separated csv-file (2.7 MB).
